Four Pillars of a Man's Heart: Part 1

Big Idea - Manhood is about Gospel-Centered Balance
Psalms 25:12 Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will show him the way he should choose.
1. Real men put God as their number one priority.
Psalms 1 How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord's instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. The wicked are not like this; instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not survive the judgment, and sinners will not be in the community of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.
2. Real men surrender to the Holy Spirit and become Servant Kings.
Matthew 20:20-28 Then the mother of Zebedee's sons approached Him with her sons. She knelt down to ask Him for something. "What do you want? " He asked her. "Promise," she said to Him, "that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right and the other on Your left, in Your kingdom." But Jesus answered, "You don't know what you're asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?" "We are able," they said to Him. He told them, "You will indeed drink My cup. But to sit at My right and left is not Mine to give; instead, it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by My Father." When the 10 disciples heard this, they became indignant with the two brothers. But Jesus called them over and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles dominate them, and the men of high position exercise power over them. It must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life - a ransom for many."
Are you praying with the people that you are leading?
Are you taking initiative?
3. Real men find strength from the Holy Spirit and become Tender Warriors.
Matthew 26:51-54 At that moment one of those with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword. He struck the high priest's slave and cut off his ear. Then Jesus told him, "Put your sword back in its place because all who take up a sword will perish by a sword. Or do you think that I cannot call on My Father, and He will provide Me at once with more than 12 legions of angels? How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?" 1 Samuel 18:6-7 As the troops were coming back, when David was returning from killing the Philistine, the women came out from all the cities of Israel to meet King Saul, singing and dancing with tambourines, with shouts of joy, and with three-stringed instruments. As they celebrated, the women sang: Saul has killed his thousands, but David his tens of thousands. Acts 13:22 After removing him, He raised up David as their king and testified about him: 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man loyal to Me, who will carry out all My will.'
Are you more concerned about being a Gospel centered man or what our culture says a man is?
Our heart must line up with God's. We must be tender and abide in the truth!
How will you serve those God has placed under your leadership?
How will you let you man serve you?
Healthy accountability is required to make this happen in our community.
